Re-evaluating nutrition, yet again......

So I spent 3 days last week glued to my computer watching a webcast of a raw food seminar in northern California. I ate it up and the girls were also very attentive. I loved all the info and feel very persuaded by the whole raw food movement, I do have some reservations and thoughts of my own that will keep me from going down that strictly raw road though. Such as the whole dehydrating idea wow 12 hours for a batch of cookies that so does not work for me, and I feel raw fooders in mean some raw fooders eat way too many nuts and seeds and frankly even a few presenters were a little on the chubby side which tells me that more cashews are being consumed than kale! Now I love cashews but some of these chefs were make "nut loafs" we are talking mega calorie and major fat! Not good, I mean moderation in all things. I really connected with Dr Doug Graham who wrote the 80-10-10 diet, I should get my amazon delivery tomorrow! He focused on eating food in it's original form I liked his ideas and he is an athlete he really looked the part. For me it's really hard to get inspired to follow someone's philosophy's when they don't look the way you want to look. Maybe that is very shallow but it's true. All in all I have learned so much about food the last year, I thank my Dad for introducing me to the book "The China Study" T. Colin Campbell, last year it has changed my life and taken all the fear about cancer out of my life I love the freedom in my mind knowing that I know what causes cancer and it's easily avoidable. What a huge relief since all the women in my life seem to die from cancer. Knowledge is POWER! So here I am still floating along as far as my ideas about food go I'm not locked on to any plan or theory I'm just letting the spirit guide me and try each day to nourish my family and make their body healthy and resiliant.
